For Mo Toukhy, the question of how businesses get found online is part of a much larger question: how do people find, understand, and connect with information? That question has shaped his career across global advertising, art direction, information science, and technology. Today, it is at the center of Enginecy, a Tampa technology company helping businesses navigate the changing world of search and artificial intelligence.
Enginecy founder and CEO Mo Toukhy, who began his career in Cairo in 2005, launched the company in December 2023. Enginecy brings search engine optimization, creative direction, website development, and conversion strategy together. The company helps businesses become easier to find and easier to choose. Its work spans traditional search and emerging AI discovery as consumers increasingly turn to platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews for information and recommendations. “Being found is only half the job,” said Toukhy. “Findability gets someone through the door. Creative gives them a reason to stay. Conversion gives them a reason to act.”
Toukhy saw businesses separating search, design, content, and conversion among different vendors. The result could be a website that looks great but receives little traffic. It could also be a search strategy that generates traffic without convincing visitors to take action. Enginecy was created to bring those functions together.
The company’s philosophy is captured in the phrase “where logic meets magic.” The logic represents the technical side of digital discovery. This includes search strategy, website structure, information architecture, and the systems that help search engines understand a business. The magic represents what happens after someone finds it. That includes design, messaging, trust, and the overall customer experience. This approach is becoming more important as artificial intelligence changes how consumers search for information.
Enginecy is helping businesses adapt through traditional search engine optimization. It also works with emerging strategies such as answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization. “People used to type keywords and pick from a list of ten,” said Toukhy. “Now they ask a question and get one answer. If you are not in that answer, you are not in the running.”
Enginecy has built more than 50 client websites across industries including personal injury law, healthcare, compounding pharmacy, med spas, insurance, speciality construction, luxury retail, pet care, and professional services. For Ghaly Injury Law in Clearwater, the company helped the firm reach the first position for “personal injury lawyers near me.” It also helped the firm appear in a Google AI Overview for a core practice question. Emerald Compounding Pharmacy in Tampa reached page one and achieved a 9.4 percent click through rate in approximately eight weeks, roughly three times the industry benchmark.
With its combination of technology, creative direction, and search expertise, Enginecy is building a different kind of digital growth company. From Tampa, Toukhy is developing an approach that connects how businesses are discovered with what happens once customers find them, creating a model designed to help companies compete in an increasingly complex digital marketplace.
