From Car Sales to Courseware: How JustInsurance Founder Justin vom Eigen Is Redefining How America Gets Licensed

By the FL Innovation News editorial team · Entrepreneurship

More than half of aspiring insurance agents fail their licensing exam on the first try. Justin vom Eigen built JustInsurance to change that statistic, and it is working.

The Florida-based entrepreneur launched JustInsurance to solve a problem he experienced firsthand. The insurance licensing process was outdated, confusing, and full of unnecessary barriers that kept motivated people from entering the field.

“I saw people give up not because they lacked ambition, but because the system was unclear,” Justin said. “That needed to change.”

Raised in Leominster, Massachusetts, Justin learned resilience early. After college, he started selling cars with little more than a borrowed suit and determination. Within months, he was a top performer, but he wanted more purpose from his work. That search led him into the insurance industry and to an opportunity for disruption.

In 2018, he launched JustInsurance, an online education platform that helps aspiring agents get licensed faster and with more confidence. The platform uses AI powered study tools, adaptive learning paths that identify weak areas, and SCORM compliant courseware that integrates through API with agency systems. Students who follow the course as designed have a 93 percent pass rate, completing their licensing up to 30 percent faster than traditional programs.

“We are not just helping people pass a test,” Justin said. “We are helping them start a career.”

Between its interactive course and YouTube channel, where Justin has built a following of more than 20,000 subscribers, JustInsurance reaches over 30,000 people each month who are preparing for their exams. The company now partners with more than 1,000 agencies nationwide.

Operating from Puerto Rico, Justin has built a fully remote team that serves agencies across the country. The setup reflects both his belief in location independence and the company’s digital first approach.

Next, JustInsurance is developing AI dashboards that give agencies real time insight into learning outcomes and student progress. For Justin, that focus on measurable results is key.

“When people have the right tools, they can change their lives,” he said.

In an industry with a failure rate of more than 50 percent, JustInsurance proves that students were never the problem. It was the system. And Justin vom Eigen is rewriting it.
